If you are interested in reading a great
thriller, in which you will find absolutely no disappointment, then you have to read Some Kind of Angel

The accidental detective is one of my biggest gripes with the mystery/crime genre. After the fourth or fifth book where Mr. Everyman gets sucked into a life or death thriller, it stops making much sense. Fans of the genre just have to let it go and forget that they're reading about the unluckiest detective in the universe.

I should set one of these up. I never know what I'd say. "Finished a story." "Got a rejection." "Finished another story." ad inifinitum.

Weirdly, I've been looking more and more at crime fiction. In part, it gets more respect than horror or fantasy (for no really good reason), and most of what I write has at least an element of crime to it.

When I finish Dancing with the Train (which is about a mental defective, a closeted gay kid, a shitty Texas town and a train) I'll be doing the first in what are likely to be yet another series of pieces, about two problem-solvers named Burke and Hare.

I used to be the biggest Stephen King fan ever, but I stopped liking his books a long time ago. He lost his touch or something. At least, he lost his ability to grab my interest and run with it.
